Life After Hours is an independent local discovery platform for South Africa. We list businesses, venues, activities, and community events to help people find things to do and places to go. Listings and events are provided for informational purposes only.

Some of our business and venue data is sourced from OpenStreetMap © OpenStreetMap contributors, made available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). See Section 12 for full details on our use of publicly sourced data and your right to request removal or correction of a listing.

Unless we explicitly say otherwise in writing, Life After Hours is not affiliated with, endorsed by, partnered with, or acting on behalf of any listed business, venue, organiser, or event.

Any person may submit an event for consideration via our public submission form. By submitting an event you confirm that:

• You have the right to submit the event on behalf of the organiser.
• All information provided is accurate, complete, and not misleading.
• The event does not promote illegal activity, hate speech, discrimination, or content that violates any applicable South African law.
• You consent to us publishing the submitted details publicly on the Platform if the event is approved.

We reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove any event submission at our sole discretion, without notice or explanation. Submission does not guarantee publication.

We do our best to keep event and business information accurate, but we make no warranties as to the completeness, timeliness, or accuracy of any listing. Dates, times, prices, and locations may change without notice. Always verify details directly with the organiser or business before attending.

Life After Hours accepts no liability for loss or inconvenience arising from inaccurate, outdated, or removed listings.

Publication on the Platform does not amount to our endorsement, recommendation, certification, or approval of any business, organiser, event, venue, service quality, pricing, safety, or legality.

When using the Platform you agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent event or business information.
• Use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to access or copy content without prior written permission.
• Attempt to interfere with the Platform's security, availability, or performance.
• Upload or transmit any malicious code, spam, or unlawful content.

All original content on the Platform - including design, copy, graphics, and code - is owned by or licensed to Life After Hours. You may not reproduce, republish, or redistribute any content without our prior written consent.

Event and business information submitted by third parties remains the intellectual property of the respective submitters. By submitting content you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to publish and display that content on the Platform.

We are a discovery and media platform. We are not the agent, reseller, promoter, booking partner, ticketing intermediary, franchise partner, or representative of any listed business or event unless a separate written agreement expressly says so.

Any trademarks, logos, business names, event names, or brand references remain the property of their respective owners and are used only for identification, attribution, commentary, discovery, or public-information purposes where permitted by law.

The Platform may link to external websites, ticketing platforms, or social media pages. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party site. Visiting external links is at your own risk.

We collect limited personal information from event submitters (name and email address) solely to process submissions and notify you when your event goes live. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

In accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your information from our records.

Platform visitor data (page views, session data) may be collected by analytics tools for the purposes of improving the Platform. No personally identifiable information is collected from general visitors without consent.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Life After Hours and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from:

• Your use of or inability to use the Platform.
• Inaccurate or outdated event or business information.
• Any event you attend based on information found on the Platform.
• Unauthorised access to or alteration of your submissions.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Life After Hours, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, losses, or damages (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your submissions, or your violation of these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

Some business and venue listings on the Platform are sourced automatically from publicly available datasets, including:

• OpenStreetMap — A free, open geographic database made available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Listings sourced from OpenStreetMap are attributed accordingly.
• Public event APIs — Publicly accessible event listings from platforms such as Eventbrite, where their terms of service permit display with attribution and a link back to the original listing.

We do not scrape or copy content from competitor sites or sources that prohibit automated access. All automated data ingestion is limited to sources that explicitly allow it under their published licence or terms.

Business opt-out: If your business or venue appears on the Platform and you would like it removed, corrected, or claimed, email us at hello@lifeafterhours.co.zawith the subject line "Remove Listing" or "Claim Listing". We will action your request within 5 business days. Providing your business on publicly accessible maps or directories does not constitute consent to be listed here, and we respect every reasonable removal or correction request.

Accuracy disclaimer: Automatically sourced data may be outdated, incomplete, or incorrect. We accept no liability for inaccuracies in third-party sourced listings. Always contact the business directly to confirm details before visiting.
